We had to go to California at the end of May for a family issue. We packed up the hand held video games and I packed my Kindle Fire knowing that I had apps, but also that I had some kid books on there.
I have to tell you, there is nothing that warms my heart more than driving the family to California with my 6 year old in the backseat reading to me a kid book from my Kindle Fire. It was the coolest thing a mother could experience!
While we were in California, I was offered the opportunity to read Sadie: The Paper Crown Princess. I couldn’t resist knowing that it would yet another book for my darling daughter to read to me on our drive home from California!
From Amazon:
Sadie is a spunky princess-in-training whose big ideas keep getting in the way of her earning her tiara. Her journey takes her from the Princess Academy on an around the world adventure where Sadie learns the meaning of being a real princess. With one last chance to prove herself worthy of a crown, Sadie follows her heart and discovers the beauty of being true to yourself.
My daughter was thrilled the second I told her that I got her a new book to read and even more excited when she heard the title of the book. I’m sure the “princess” aspect appealed to her!
It was wordy and long for my 6 year old to read at once, or by herself, but we did enjoy reading it a few different times a day for a few days together. I would say that this book is probably suitable more for a child who can read more than just “know by heart words” that my kindergartener knows, but we did enjoy reading it together.
My daughter has not always been open to me reading to her so her allowing me to read this to her was great! And she really did enjoy the story!
We both enjoyed the illustrations in the book! I think those helped keep my littlest one (my 4 year old son) reading the book with us! They capture your eye immediately!
We enjoyed Sadie: The Paper Crown Princess and I recommend that every Princess have a copy of this book (available in paper back and hard cover!)

I love hearing my kids read, too!! It’s a special time to share together.
