I just returned home from the Graco Safety event at my local Babies R Us to learn about the Graco Snugride Click Connect 40 and I had to race home to share because I am in amazement!
First off, it comes in a gender neutral color (pictured) or in a more feminine color (has some pink in it).
It comes with two travel options; a FastAction Fold Sport Click Connect that allows the car seat to be clicked into the stroller and used as the child grows as a normal stroller – which by the way has an easy one hand fold up system and is lightweight – or the Graco Snugrider Elite Stroller Frame that is just the frame for the car seat to click in.
I was a little disappointed to know that each piece (the car seat and the travel system) are all sold separately, but when you compare the price of purchasing the car seat ($219.99) and the FastAction Fold Sport Click Connect stroller ($139.99), you really are saving money for years of use.
This car seat, is a rear facing car seat that will go from birth to age 2 (4 pounds up to 40 pounds). And as we know by now, The American Pediatric Association has stated that children should be rear facing until the age of 2, so this car seat is perfect! No need to buy a baby car seat and then have to purchase a convertible car seat and so on and so on. So you get 2 years use out of the car seat, and the stroller you can easily get 3+ years out of it!
To allow the child to rear face until the age of 2, the car seat base adjusts to allow for more leg room and there is a foot piece to help protect your seats from getting dirtied by little toddler feet.
I really am amazed how versatile this car seat was and that it would last for so long! I am adding this to my wishlist for baby #3 (even though we have a car seat travel system, this one is too amazing to pass up!)
