We are always looking for ways to save money in our home. Being in Arizona, saving money on my electric bill – especially in the summer months – is top priority.
When I was given the opportunity to review the Insignia LED Light Bulbs, I could not pass up the opportunity! (And I’m glad I didn’t!)
Hubby was happy to learn that the Insignia LED Light Bulbs are dimmable so we will be purchasing more to put in our living room that has a dimmer, but currently has non-dimmable lights!
The first thing I noticed and liked was that the light bulb was plastic – not the typical breakable glass, which makes me feel better as a mom.
Hubby took one that we received and replaced our old “normal” light bulb in the lamp in our bedroom. I wasn’t really expecting much, but wow! The difference in light was amazing! The entire room lit up nice and bright, but not the “new bulb” bright that hurts your eyes!
I did notice on the website that these retail for approximately $17 a piece, which on one hand sounds spendy, but when reading more information, these have an approximately life span of 22.8 years (based on using them 3 hours per day). Even still, let’s say you use it 6 hours per day, that is still 11.4 years worth of light! How many other light bulbs do you know that have a life expectancy that long!? And it uses less electricity!

Wow, this Insignia LED Light Bulb sounds interesting. The use of this kind of bulb really helps in saving a lot from electricity costs. This is also a good jump start if you’re planning to start an “energy-saving campaign” on your home. The prices of these energy-saving bulbs may cost higher than the regular ones.. but they’re really worth it! Did you already notice the difference on your electricity bill? If no, you might also want to check on your electric wires. Old and worn out electric wires also consumes more energy than they normally do.
Wow. Edison would be jumping for joy if he saw one of these. We’ve come a long way from the incandescent. That bulb might last longer than me!
