Sometimes, mom – or women in general – just like to be reminded that that they are appreciated.

Sure, you give us gifts on our birthdays and you ‘wine and dine’ us on anniversaries, but sometimes we just want to feel loved and remembered on the other days of the year.

Life gets busy and we take advantage of those little things which is why sometimes, it’s nice to show her what she means to you.

Alone time at home.

She can read a book. Take a bath. Veg on the couch. Really, she can do whatever she wants so long as it’s alone!

You might think this is a joke, but seriously. I can count on one hand the number of times I go to the bathroom alone in a week! If your special lady has children, I promise you, some alone time – whether it be the length of a shower, or five minutes – it will be appreciated!

Quiet time.

Take the kids and give her some peace and quiet.Whether you go to another part of the house or leave the house altogether. We all deserve some peace and quiet every once and again!

Don’t have kids? Maybe some quiet time unplugged may be just what she needs to unwind and relax.

Woman’s Day Out.

Send her out. Let her go shopping. Give her a gift certificate for a massage, or to get her nails done, or her hair done. If you are on a budget, you can still send her out to do something less expensive (be a couponer and find a coupon for a local nail place. A pedi doesn’t have to break the bank!)

Ladies’ Night Out.

Call up some of her girl friends and set her up with a night out on the town with her favorite gal pals. They can go to a movie, dinner, happy hour – anything to give her some one on one time with her ladies!

Tokens of affection.

Hubby likes to get me flowers, but I am not a big flower person (they die). He did surprise me with a CD last week (which I loved! It was something he remembered me saying a month ago and brought it home as a surprise!)

Or you can always go with a sure winner – jewelry.

Whether it be something simple yet beautiful like this
butterfly bracelet…

…or something more unique such as this
leather cuff –

– your woman is sure to know how much you adore her! (And can you tell, I’m into wrist jewelry right now? Hint, hint, hubby of mine!)

You don’t have to break the bank on something huge to show her you love her and appreciate her, but sometimes, words aren’t enough and we love to see it.

What was a favorite thing someone in your life did to make you feel loved and appreciated?
