I know that I cannot be the only one who has seen the romance between you and your spouse start to decrease after the birth of kids.
I mean really, between working and the three kids – one who still shares our bed, romance tends to be something like scheduling a meeting with your spouse.
Fortunately, K-Y® Date Night is coming to Walmart for a great
with your spouse, but until then, spice things up and keep romance alive in your marriage! (For the record, I am no expert, but it can’t hurt to try some of these!)
Flirt
. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you can’t flirt with your spouse.
Send cryptic emails
. Hubby can access his personal email at work so we tend to send cryptic messages to each other during the work day. They are messages that we can understand what the other is saying, but it’s not sexual to gather outside attention if seen.
If your spouse can’t get emails at work,
send a cryptic text message
. You can even do this if you are in the same room together, but with people around.
Send pic messages to your spouse
. AND I DON’T MEAN NUDE! Hubby and I tend to send each other picture messages making silly faces or lovey faces. Something to let the other know that you are thinking of them or to get them thinking of you!
Leave them something to start their day off thinking of you
. Hubby sends me a text message every morning when he gets to work so when I wake up, I have a text message from him telling me he loves me. It starts my day off right.
Other mornings, he will leave a note written on the bathroom mirror for me:
Shower together
. Alone time together can be hard to get – take it while you can. You can make it sensual by washing each other’s body or shampooing each other’s hair.
Have a date night once a week
. Ideally, have a babysitter, but if you don’t have a sitter, make a date night at home after the kids are in bed. Sit down together for a meal and a movie, or maybe just a movie.
Cuddle together
. Whether in bed or if you have a bed sharer like we do, cuddle while watching tv with the family.
Leave notes
where they are sure to find them at least expected times. A note on the pillow, a note in his work pants, a note in his lunch, etc.
Remove distractions
. Put down the cell phone. Turn off the computer. Spend quality one on one time together.
Talk
– keep lines of communication open. Talk about how your day was. Talk about plans for later that week. Don’t shut yourself off from your partner.
Hold hands
! At home, in public – whenever!
No pecks
! This actually has become a pet peeve of mine. Hubby pecks me goodbye in the morning (usually because I’m sleeping) and then will give me a peck when he gets home. It doesn’t have to be a make out session, but get rid of the pecks!
Give massages
. One of our favorite things to do is grab some massage oil and give each other massages.
Get your hands on the
. The K-Y® Date Night Kit includes $50 value 1 free meal for two people from PEACHDISH.com delivered to your door for an intimate night of cooking together, a $5 VUDU movie credit for you to stream right at home and the pleasure of K-Y® Yours+Mine Couples Lubricants.
