Emmett Blackburn was sure he had it all; a productive farm, a wonderful girl, great friends, even a cool lazy river to swim in on hot summer afternoons. But when his brother returns to Potter’s Pond and starts dishing out orders, leaving Emmett feeling like an outsider in his own house, Emmett risks everything, taking the biggest gamble of his life. Soon after, Emmett leaves Potter’s Pond and travels to the other side of the world. There he finds something even more precious to him than his land . . . her.

The question now is . . . can he keep her.

My Thoughts

I received a copy of this book well before it was published. So I read it, wrote my review, and then waited to publish this review until I got the okay that the book has been released.

One would think that after so many months, you would forget what the book was about, but I am telling you, I can feel the emotions of reading the book and remember it all. This is definitely a story that you remember.

Sweet Sun Kisses was a different romance story than I am used to reading. And I loved it!

The beginning starts with two very different people in two very different countries. You are sure they are going to come together, but you don’t know how, why, when, where. In reality, you cannot see how in the world the author is going to bring them together. But he does.

That’s not the end. Not even close. This isn’t a “they find each other and it’s happily ever after”. It is the farthest thing from “happily ever after”.

I loved following each of the individuals, following their lives, following everything they accomplish, gain, lose.

I love the fate. I loved everything about this book.

You will feel anger, hurt, love, happiness, sadness, loss – a roller coaster of emotions from beginning to end.

If you enjoy romance and are looking for a romance story that isn’t the norm, this is definitely it.

It was a breath of fresh air to take a break from the typical love story and this is one that I believe I will read more than a few times!
