A favorite snack in our house is yogurt. My kids could eat it all day, every day, and it makes for a quick, easy snack to eat while on the go (I love those pouches) or when I’m busy. You don’t get easier than tossing some yogurt in a bowl with granola, or just taking a cup out of the fridge.

- Yogurt has good bacteria in it. Has anyone ever told you to eat yogurt when taking antibiotics? Antibiotics are removing the bad bacteria where as yogurt will replace those bad with good.
- Research suggests that yogurt can be good for your digestive system (which goes back to the above good bacteria, also known as probiotics.)
- Research further suggests that yogurt can be good for the immune system.
- Research suggests that yogurt can help prevent osteoporosis. It is a good source of calcium and Vitamin D which are beneficial to skeletal development.
- Research further suggests that yogurt can help lower high blood pressure and reduce the risk of getting high blood pressure.
- Yogurt helps you feel fuller, meaning you eat less. If you are looking to lose weight, yogurt is great for helping you eat 6 small meals per day rather than 3 big meals per day.
- Greek yogurt is high in Vitamin B12 (your energy vitamin!)
- Greek yogurt makes a great after work-out snack as it is full of amino acids which make up proteins. If you are someone who works out, I don’t think I need to tell you what proteins and working out have to do with one another.
- Greek yogurt contains iodine which helps with thyroid function.
