I fell head over heels in love with Sheri Meshal with her debut book

Swallowtail

, which to this day, is still a favorite. As in, #1 top favorite book. Ever.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her newest release and I have to admit; my expectations were super high because, well, hello, her debut is my favorite.

They Can Never Know

wasn’t what I was expecting. It didn’t meet my super high expectations (read impossibly, ridiculous, high expectations), but it was a good read that I thoroughly enjoyed and left me super intrigued. It is definitely a book I would not pass up.

The quote above; “go for the ride” is exactly spot on with this book. It was a ride. It was a journey. It was Cleota’s journey that we got to be a part of, but she and her friends leave their mark on you.

Miss Cleota has far more bravery and courage than many – regardless of age – and comes out of her bubble to explore, travel, meet new people, do new things, and best of all, become a better Cleota.

The book definitely gave me something to think about and while I would like to share what left me so intrigued, I feel like it may give a spoiler to the story and I don’t want that. I think Cleota’s journey is something that should be read and taken in and not spoiled in any way.

Sheri is a wonderful author and I cannot wait for her to share more stories with us!

Sheri Meshal spent most of her childhood on an old farm in Iowa. She loves dogs, neuroscience, reading and mini-triathlons. When she isn’t writing, she’s hanging out with her nieces and nephews every chance she gets.

She currently lives in Chicago with her boyfriend, Gabe and her dog, Jessica.
