I have always been a firm believer that toys should be not only fun but educational. I am also a firm believer that buying gifts for other kids is hard. Way hard!
My family loves VTech educational toys and I have compiled a list of VTech gifts for kids that will fit a wide range of ages. Below, I share VTech gifts for kids ages 6 months up to gifts for kids ages 5 years – all from VTech!
These products are great gifts for kids ages baby to great gifts for preschoolers! All of the gifts for kids shared below are currently used or have been used by my family.
Disclosure: Some of these items were purchased on our own and some of these items were provided in exchange for honest reviews. Regardless, all opinions are 100% my own.
Holiday Gift Ideas of VTech Toys
– ages 9 to 36 months –
This is a cute little turtle with a string for your little to take along with them. The Roll and Learn Turtle has lights and sounds, and helps teach colors as well as fine motor skills.
– ages 6 to 36 months
– We love Cody. He is cuddly and cute. He sings, he talks, his heart lights up. He has been a part of our family for a couple of years now and we have all had our fair share of cuddling with Cody!
– ages 6 to 36 months
– This is still a huge favorite at our house and our youngest is 2 1/2 years old. It is your typical pop-up toy (you know the ones when you were younger where one was a push, one was a turn, one was a flip, and was a switch and each one had an animal pop up?) The only difference is this one is in a train! Songs, melodies, sounds, and phrases along with a pull string to take it with!
– ages 1 to 5 years
Okay, so these are “add on” on animals to the Go! Go! Smart Animals sets, but they are so much more!! Each animal lights up on their head, makes noises, and music. ‘A’ loves using them in her imaginative play as well! They are a great multi-use toy!
– ages 12 to 36 months
Lights, sounds, numbers, food to feed the dino – what more could a toddler ask for!? Shoot, even hubby and I enjoyed feeding the dinosaur! He too comes with a pull string so you can take your new pet dino on a walk!
– ages 1 to 5 years
We purchased this two years ago for A’s birthday (at which time we bought multiple of the Go! Go! Smart Animals.) As a parent and purchaser, I wished the set came with more than one animal, but the set overall is super cute and fun to play with. It talks and makes animal noises. Great for imaginations!
– ages 1 to 5 years
We received this bad boy a couple of months ago to review and A fell in love with it immediately. As a parent, I love that they are easy to put together and noise wise – they aren’t bad. Honestly. This is definitely one toy that no matter how many times we have tried to put it away, she constantly goes back to it (even at 3 years old!)
– ages 9 to 36 months
I have a confession. I sat and played with this for a good couple of hours when we got it (along with Addy of course!) We loved it! It lights up and makes sounds, but you can put the balls in, they twirl down the ramp, and you can try to slingshot them back up through a hole. And to make them twirl down the ramp, you have to turn a button like on a gum ball machine! Too much fun!!
– ages 12 to 36 months
This is by far the ultimate VTech toy. It has so much to do! The child can sit on the back part of the train and push/scoot themselves along. If you have a walker, you can remove the seat ‘car’ from the train and they can push the train along standing up!
This bad boy has all the bells and whistles (almost literally!) Lights, sounds, music, blocks, a variety of motor skill activities. I have to admit, even my 7-year-old played with this one! Definitely a great toy and can grow with the kiddo. I would even recommend for younger than 12 months if they start showing signs of pulling themselves up!
– ages 9 to 36 months
(Personally, I would say up to age 2) This is the only item on this list that no longer resides in my house and that’s because she’s outgrown it. We have passed it on to someone else’s young one who is learning to walk.
I do have to say, though; A loved playing with this when we had it. I feel it also helped spark her imagination (I swear to you, she has the best imagination I have ever seen!) She loved tipping it over, using the wheels as her “steering wheel” and the white activity part was like her “dashboard”. It was a very loved toy in our house!
– ages 2 to 5 years
Do you have a little who is eyeing a tablet or computer like their older siblings or mommy and daddy? This is a great educational solution! She can play, it talks, it makes noises, it teaches, she can play music. I think everyone in our family has played with it!!
– ages 3 to 8 years
Not only do we own this, but these make great birthday gifts for boys as well! B loves having the Switch & Go Dinos that can go from car to dino!
– ages 3 to 8 years
K got one of these several years ago and it is still a well played with (well fought over) toy among all 3 kids. Aside from being able to take pictures and videos, you can do funny faces, noises, frames, and it even has games!
I will also add that my daughter still uses this now (and she’s almost 11). This is definitely considered among the favorites in our home!
– ages 4 to 7 years
This is the most recent gadget we have received. I was hoping it would be a good toy for A, but being only 2 and the recommended age, I felt it was a little too much for her. B is 7 and has been playing with it and having fun.
We set the time on it. He has been setting the alarm. He can take pictures and video. He can play games. One of the things I really liked was that it was slash proof so I didn’t have to worry about him washing his hands and ruining it. It is also rechargeable. BUT, one of the biggest problems we are having is that it doesn’t stay charged for very long. I can charge ours and with playing with it for an hour or two, it dies and needs to be recharged again.
If it were to stay charged longer, this would be a great gift! I think a 3 1/2-year-old up to 7, maybe older would do great with this gift. Even K likes playing with it, but I think it definitely benefits the younger crowd!
– ages 3 to 9 years
K purchased this with her holiday money last year and it was enjoyed by everyone ages 1 to 8. Even now, at almost 10 years old, she enjoys playing with it. One of the neat features that I loved was the Kid Connect app that allowed her to text message with any of us family members who had the app as well. It allowed her to text message with her grandma and aunts who live out of state.
There are plenty of free apps for games and learning and really is suitable for a ton of ages with a ton of things to do! I am actually contemplating getting B and Addy each one of their own so they don’t fight over K’s!
– ages 3 to 6 years
We received this as a review item a few months ago and while A enjoyed drawing on it (and I did too) the learning concept is a little too advanced for her. I cannot wait for her to start using this a little more as she grows as I think it’s a great assist to learning to write.
– ages 2 to 5
(Comes in pink/purple too!) This is the newest VTech addition to our home and Addy loves it!
It was super easy to put together and comes with the desk, a “stool”, and 2 pages to insert in the desktop (they are front and back sided so technically, 4 pages total). It makes noise (and takes batteries) but my favorite part is that the desktop lifts up and is a chalkboard (although chalk is not included.) It also has a little ‘clip’ like thing so she can stick paper on there and it becomes an easel.
There are holders for her crayons and markers on the desktop and when not powered on (or the batteries aren’t working) she loves to play on just the desktop, pretending that she is working like mommy. While the big kids like to ‘play’ with it, they are too big for it. The stool alone is definitely not for a child much older than 4 or 5 (unless they are little for their age.)
As you can see, we are huge fans of VTech in our home! They are fabulous educational toys that not only grow with one child but tend to grow with all 3 of mine as they range in various ages! VTech toys are definitely quality gifts!
