Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, followed far too closely with tax time. Hubby and I don’t normally exchange gifts for any holiday, but this year, I decided I would kill two birds with one stone – save money on Walmart #FamilyMobile lowest priced unlimited plans this Valentine’s Day with Walmart’s Family Mobile.
Hubby and I have been on a no-contract phone service for years and love it. The service is just as great as contract service (even while traveling within the United States) and it has saved us a bundle, but I’m always watching for ways to save money. After doing some research, I have to say, Walmart has the
Since hubby has been complaing about his current cell phone for months (I can’t blame him really. It doesn’t even support the most basic apps like Facebook and Instagram!) I decided to take him to our local Walmart for a new phone.
The mobile phone area was easy to find – straight to the back of the store (literally a straight line from the front door to the back of the store) in the entertainment section.
I hadn’t ever really looked at the mobile phones when shopping at Walmart so I was surprised by the selection of phones they had available and how they had smartphones for under $100! These were just a few of the selections they had available:
Hubby ended up picking up the Alcatel One Touch Evolve cell phone. It is a smart phone that runs on the Android system and will allow him to download his favorite apps – Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (he’s even able to download games and has downloaded Vine too!)
The sticker price was beyond fabulous for what appears to be a great phone (that has an even better camera than my HTC smartphone!)
The Walmart employee rang us up and asked if we wanted her to activate it or we could activate it at home. Since we had the two youngest kids with us, we opted to activate it at home.
We paid a whopping $120 and some odd cents for a new phone and service! The phone was $79.88 and the starter kit (activation) was $25. We opted for the 2 year protection plan for an extra $7.00 (yes, I said $7.00!)
Once we got home, activation took minutes. All I had to do was log into
and follow the easy to follw steps.
I was able to get him a new phone number (or you can transfer your existing number with the easy to follow steps) and sign him up for
– all for $39.88 a month!
We will be saving a bundle! Our current non-contract plan was 1200 minutes, unlimited text and data/web for $45 a month! More than what we will now be paying and there was a limit on the number of minutes he could use (and trust me, he is a phone talker!)
With our tax return coming in a few months, I’ll be returning to Walmart to purchase myself a new Walmart Family Mobile phone and switching my plan to save even more money – how can I not!? The phones are great, the price is right, and I can save money! I’d be crazy not to switch!
Now I need your help – what smart phone do you recommend I get next?
