Under the sweltering Savannah sun, magnolia trees bloom and a posh wedding takes place. Samuel’s wife, Tabitha, fights desperately to draw his attentions back to her and their floundering marriage. Meanwhile, Samuel’s mother, Maxine, runs into a man from her past. My Thoughts:

I really liked both books.

I was provided the opportunity to read both book 1 and book 2.

Book 1 was a novella so it was a short, easy read. Interestingly enough, book 1 jumps to the end of book 2… so it gives you this situation of the family stranded at the airport, airing all their dirty laundry, and then you read book 2 and you get the before – the reason they are in Savannah, the reason they are stranded in the airport.

Book 2 was just as good and just as easy to read.

Both books were different than my typical read, but I felt they were both relatable. They were real life. This wasn’t romance with some hunk that is far from reality or a paranormal read or some murder mystery. This was real life. This was affairs, work-a-holics, addiction, crazy opinionated mothers, marriage problems – it was something that was real life, real experience.

I highly recommend reading either books, or both. As I mentioned earlier, they are easy reads so they did not take long to read. They are engaging which makes this read that much easier. I found them both to be very enjoyable.
