First,
wait until last minute
on a Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend to make the final decision to go. This way, that check you just got in the mail that will not actually be deposited into your checking account until Tuesday of the following week.
Then,
run yourself ragged
that same Saturday evening trying to find a rental car on a holiday weekend, but also when most car rental places close at 1pm on Saturday, are closed Sunday and are closed Monday too because of the holiday.
Make sure you
wait until Sunday night
(the night before you leave), as late as possible, to not only pack, but do a few loads of laundry of clothes that you need.
Be sure to
leave on the holiday
so you can get stuck in traffic of all the vacationers returning home from their holiday weekend retreat.
Get
a hole in the air mattress
that you and your spouse are sleeping on so that it completely deflates and you don’t realize it until 10pm so then you have to scrounge for a way to fix it or find someone to borrow a mattress from.
Have your 6 year old all of a sudden start
“barking”, wheezing and can’t breath
which results in an 11pm ER run that lasts until 2am so that said 6 year old sleeps until noon and then wakes up with a fever and still unable to breath.
Yes, that is how my “vacation” has gone. I am counting down until all goes back to “normal”. As for now, any prayers and positive thoughts would be appreciated for Buggy. We were just able to get a prescription for a breathing treatment so hopefully she’ll be able to breath again!
How is your week going?
