Today, we are moving on to the first challenge!

Day 01: Your current relationship. If single, discuss being single.

My current relationship status is married.

My husband and I met at the end of 2003, via work.

We both worked for groups homes with developmentally disabled adults.

My first day on the job, we took the individuals from my group home to their weekly bowling league. It was a Saturday and I was sitting at the table when this gorgeous man who was hot, married, and 29 walked in. (I later found out he was hot, single, and 19.)

The fact that he worked with the same clientele as me was a bonus, but when he gave the t-shirt off his own back to my consumer who had an accident – that was it. I knew he was the one.

It took a couple months of arranging, but friends managed to get us at the same winter dance for our company. They managed to get phone numbers exchanged. They managed to get us to dance together.

That night, after the dance and after we got off work, we went on our first date and the rest is history. (That was December 13, 2003.)

We got married – over home plate on a softball field in Phoenix – on August 22, 2005.

Our daughter, K, was born December 2005; our son, B, was born April 2008; and our daughter Addy was born February 2013.
