I have seen pictures of bedrooms with super cool designs on their walls. Designs that I have to admit, I was pretty clueless on how they got them on a wall. I mean, I’m okay with creativity and drawing on paper, but on walls?
Let me introduce
.
You don’t have to be an artist for this stuff!
My Wonderful Walls offers wall stickers (kits where you just apply the design to the wall like a giant sticker),
(painting with stencils), and canvas murals (ready to hand canvas murals).
For us, it was best for us to pick
because we rent. (I am sure our landlord wouldn’t have minded us painting with the stencils, but the wall decals were just an easier choice.)
With having two kids – each of a different gender with different likes – I decided to pick out something for baby #3. Unfortunately, we don’t have room for her to have her own room, but I have transformed my side of the bedroom into a little baby corner so the wall decal fit perfectly there.
I picked out from the
and choose the
. (Because she shares a room with us, I had to stay within my designated “baby corner”, but I loved the different choices for the classic nursery stickers!)
Here is my “baby corner”:
Initially, I wanted to put the decal on the right wall, but between the curtain and the corner of the wall, hubby did not think it would fit.
I have to admit, the decal was bigger than I originally planned and the anxiety of putting it up really had me flustered.
I did learn a few things with this project:
A. I would probably choose stencils next time because it is more up my alley for me to do. (I love to do crafty stuff like that and think it would be quite therapeutic for myself)
B. It really was a one person job. When I tried to get in there to help, it felt like too many hands.
C. It really was not as bad as it looked!
Once we wiped down the wall to ensure they were clean (the instructions state that a clean will equals decals will stick better and longer) we were ready to start the process. Fortunately for me, hubby is smarter than he looks and he had a game plan!
Unfortunately for hubby’s plan, he wasn’t careful and misaligned the bottom piece. On the plus side, he was able to take off the bottom sticker and reapply it (and it stuck perfectly).
There was literally one air bubble at the end of the bottom piece when he reapplied it (trust me, my OCD was inspecting carefully) that was easily pushed out.
I was very happy with the result:
