My Review

Have you seen the movie ’10 Things I Hate About You’?

There’s a part in the movie where the gal is trying to get her boyfriend out of detention and distracts the teacher. She comes up with a soccer play stating, “they’re looking left, and we’re running right. Bang! We score. We win.” That is the first thing I thought of when I finished this book.

It takes a superb writer to pull you into the mystery and have you figuring out the suspect(s) and then throwing in a twist. I was looking left, running right, and bang!

The book starts out by grasping you by the collar and pulling you in with the sordid details of the crime we are about to investigation with Alex and her team.

Mefford’s stories never disappoint and I find myself side by side with the agents as we visit the crime scenes and lay out the evidence. Mefford does a superb job of giving us just enough to have our own suspects and just as you think you have figured it out – before the FBI, mind you – there comes that twist where you find yourself debating if you are right.

I swear I had this one figured out only to be proven wrong – well, partially wrong.

I am a Mefford fanatic and love all of his book. He is my #1 recommended for a good thriller mystery and highly recommend AT Every Turn – alone or with all the other books in the series!
