6 Ways to Make Easter Fun and Relaxing with #HoneyBakedEaster #ad

Holidays are always a stressful time. Cooking, cleaning, getting the kids looking good without ruining their clothes or getting dirty before it’s time. It’s just a day of chaos and stress!

This year, I would like to help make your Easter holiday easier by sharing my 6 ways to make Easter fun and relaxing!

The Outfits

The kids have to have their new Easter outfits. The girls get new dresses and the boys get new slacks with a nice top to make them presentable. (Although, I have to admit, in our family, the nice outfits don’t stay on much longer than a couple hours before the play clothes come out so make sure it’s an outfit they can wear again later!)

I have to admit, I am usually pretty good about this and order their outfits a month in advance (or at least a couple of weeks in advance). I usually order online to save the trip to the store with all three kids in tow.

The Egg Decorating

A few days before Easter, the family always gets together at Grandma and Grandpa’s to
! It has been a tradition we have done with the kids ever since Buggy’s first Easter.

You can usually find a couple good sales on eggs right around Easter. My in-laws usually buy a dozen and we usually buy a dozen (at least) and we all hard boil them at least one week before Easter to ensure they are ready for coloring!

The Baskets

Every year, the kids get a basket with goodies. Growing up, our baskets typically contained a lot of candy and one or two material items. My kids don’t get the candy. (A) I usually forget the whole candy thing and (B) let’s be honest, who needs all that sugar anyway!

Again, this is something I usually order online because frankly, it’s easier and the kids do not know what I am purchasing when it comes in a brown box at the front door!

The Easter Egg Hunt

Growing up, we never had an Easter egg hunt, but since my kids were born, we have had an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. (The last two years they have had an Easter egg hunt with a friend’s daughter too at the park with friends!)

The eggs have prizes too! They are usually filled with change – pennies up to quarters. (Fortunately, my kids are still too young to really know the value of money yet so change is a perfect, cheap solution for us to use!… For now!)

The Food

Why waste all that time in the kitchen making the perfect holiday meal when HoneyBaked Ham can do it for you!? HoneyBaked Ham offers turkey or ham, plus amazing family side dishes, desserts, and more!

I had hubby run to our Mesa store to pick up an Easter dinner that included a roasted whole turkey breast, a family side of macaroni and cheese, a family side of potatoes au gratin, and macaroni salad (actually 2 because he is crazy about their macaroni salad!)

(I have to add that he also purchased some bacon, a ham bone, and soup mix to make white bean and ham bone soup.)

We had tried the
around Christmas so this time we wanted to try the turkey. I have to admit how impressed I was.

The turkey came pre-sliced in a container with directions to warm in the stove or in the microwave, however many slices you thought you would be eating. Hubby threw the entire container in the microwave for 4 minutes and it was perfectly cooked! Talk about a time saver!

HoneyBaked Ham has ham, poultry, meats (ribs, pork, chicken, meatloaf and bacon), breads, family style sides (we have tried the cinnamon apples, garlic mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and potatoes au gratin; but they also have sweet potato souffle, broccoli rice casserole, green bean casserole, and stuffing), desserts, pantry items, and deli items (which includes hubby’s favorite macaroni salad).

HoneyBaked Ham has delicious food, but food that I do not have to stand there and slave over a hot stove all day for!

The Cake

Since I was a little girl, we have had the tradition of our Easter Bunny Cake! The cake can be made a day or two in advance (and usually best after the kids go to bed if you don’t want little fingers dipping into your bunny cake!)

You can find my Easter Bunny Cake how-to post here. It’s cute. It’s fun. It’s easy. It’s open to your creativity. It’s my kids’ favorite part of Easter!
