How to Make Chocolate Ice Cream with Ice Cream Magic
The kids begged. They pleaded. They had to have Ice Cream Magic. They could not live without it.
When ours arrived in the mail, they were over the moon. (And even though the weather today was in the 50’s, they didn’t care – they wanted ice cream in their Ice Cream Magic!)
Ingredients:
Ice
Table Salt
Water
Heavy whipping cream
Vanilla extract (optional)
Sugar
Chocolate Syrup
Directions:
Ice Cream Magic has 4 pieces to it – the ice chamber, the freezing bowl, the ingredients lid and the cover lid.
In a bowl, mix together 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 tablespoon of sugar, and 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup (we did 1 tablespoon and it was incredibly chocolately tasting).
Place crushed ice (ice cubes were too big and we had to crush them ourselves) in the ice chamber along with 4 tablespoons of table salt and 4 tablespoons of water.
Place the freezing bowl on top of the ice chamber.
Pour the mixed ingredients from the bowl into the freezing bowl.
Place the ingredient lid on and then the cover lid.
Shake for approximately 10 minutes.
Ice Cream Magic claims you shake it for 3 minutes to get ice cream (and I had a super cute video of Buddy shaking his and the video broke!) After 3 minutes, ours was a malt consistency:
Daddy and the kids put the lids back on and took turn shaking it again for what I would guess was a total of 10 minutes in all.
It still wasn’t completely firm, but it was more soft serve with a little liquid remaining. It was good enough for us to eat it!
It was delicious and the kids had fun making their own ice cream!
Ice Cream Magic comes with its own recipe book on how to make vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, chocolate chip mint, vanilla coconut, chocolate coconut, s’mores, peanut butter and jelly, banana split, cookies n cream, and bear-e-delicious ice creams!
