Make Rainy Day Fun Memories {+ Printable Word Find for the Kids!}
It doesn’t rain often, but when it does; we find ways to make rainy day fun memories.
Having worked with kids as long as I have, I keep a few tricks and ideas up my sleeves to keep 3 kids entertained on a day when it’s gray, gloomy, and we are stuck indoors.
Movies.
Make sure you have a couple of good movies on hand or available.
Movies are always a good win. Plus, if I need a little bit to get something done or need a few to unwind from the kids, a movie is a great break.
Board games.
Always a winner! I like to keep on hand board games for all ages (I have a 3 year old, 8 year old and 11 year old so games that fit in their age groups is important.) Also, having board games that can be played by more than just 2 players helps keep the fighting to a minimum.
Dominoes.
Not only are Dominoes great to play games (we played a lot of ‘bones’ with friends pre-kids) but you can build with Dominoes. (What’s more fun that stacking them and knocking them over in a domino effect!?)
A deck of cards.
Or more. There are plenty of card games kids can play (

,
,
) but they can try building a card house as well. (It’s one of B’s favorite things to do when he’s feeling restless.)
Word Finds.
My kids love word finds and I had a ton of fun making this one especially for you all! You can go ahead and print it. I kept it pretty easy and B went through and made sure all the words were there. It shouldn’t be too difficult!
Coloring pages.
Join the kids on this one and spend some time coloring!
I have an

Ingredients for cookies.
Again, need I say more? There is no better way to brighten up a gray day than having fun, baking in the kitchen with the kids! (I’m not saying the mess is fun, but the making the mess is fun!)
Lots of blank paper and crayons.
Draw your own pictures. Play tic tac toe. Play the connect the dots game.

I don’t know about you, but playing and baking makes me hungry and we love goldfish crackers in our home!
bring back memories from my childhood. I swear, they have been the snack for forever and they make for a great memory maker for my kids too!
