I have been giving a lot of thought to what we put in, on, or near our bodies lately. I think it stems from a few weeks back when Buddy was being a Mini Hulk. A mommy from Buggy’s school mentioned the foods that she allows and does not allow her son to eat and it really got me thinking about the chemicals we are putting in our body and near our body. It is so unnatural and unhealthy when you stop and think about it.

I have not made a lot of changes to our diets yet, but I have been collecting resources for fresh, organic foods such as produce and eggs. I’m looking into different options for our dairy needs as well. I try to keep sugary foods out of our diet as much as I can, but I really need to start paying attention to the dyes and artificial flavors and added ingredients.

With both of my kids I used disposable diapers. I was never taught otherwise, but the more I read about cloth diapering and the benefits, especially the removal of unknown chemicals against my child’s skin, I think cloth diapering will be a decision we make for any future children. But it also got me thinking about the chemicals I put in or near my body as a woman.

I was raised on disposable pads and tampons. I honest to goodness had no clue there was another option out there. Fortunately, all these great “eco-friendly” bloggers I follow, I was introduced to menstrual cups (there will be a review and giveaway coming up within the next week or two) and cloth menstrual pads!

I am in awe at this cloth pad situation! Not only are the super adorable (I have found tons of different prints, sizes, prices, and thickness for different needs) but the reduction of unknown chemicals just amazes me! I have yet to make my purchase, but I have roughly 7 Etsy shops bookmarked to try the different types of pads each of them offer and start a stash of cloth menstrual pads.

There is just too much of the unknown in our foods and products and it is not only unnatural, but so incredibly unhealthy!

Have you made healthier, natural choices in your home? Please, share them with me in the comment section!
