Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace: he has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You’d like to get to know Grace better. But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love.

Picture this: a dinner party at their perfect home, the conversation and wine flowing. They appear to be in their element while entertaining. And Grace’s friends are eager to reciprocate with lunch the following week. Grace wants to go, but knows she never will. Her friends call—so why doesn’t Grace ever answer the phone? And how can she cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim?

And why are there bars on one of the bedroom windows?

The perfect marriage? Or the perfect lie?

There is a quote on the front of the book that puts this entire book into words –

’BEHIND CLOSED DOORS is both unsettling and addictive, as I raced through the pages to find out Grace’s fate. A chilling thriller that will keep you reading long into the night.’

–Mary Kubica, bestselling author of The Good Girl

Holy heck in a handbag was this a read!

It started out a little slow, but almost immediately, I knew something was up but really wasn’t sure. In case you haven’t read a book review I have done before; I judge books on their covers and titles. I never read what a book is about before diving in and I’m kind of glad I hadn’t with this one as it came as quite the surprise.

What lies in this book is… unspeakable. There are no words. The lengths that are gone to… blows my mind.

I could not put this book down and could not wait to turn the page to see what was happening next.

The format was a little different – one chapter would be past, the next chapter would be present, back to past, back to present. It was not difficult to follow. It did get slightly confusing as the past and present started to merge, but for the most part; I did not have any trouble following what time frame we were in.

If you are looking for a really good, edge of your seat, mess with your head type of suspense and thrill; this is definitely it. A twisted read that I am certain I will re-read at some point in the future!
