Disclosure: I participated in this program on behalf of Champions for Kids and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

I have always taught my kids to give back where they can.

It may not be monetary, but whether it be donating toys, food, clothes – giving back in whatever way we can is important so when I was asked if I would share about
and their
, I couldn’t say no!

Champion for Kids, in short, makes is simple to give children in your communities the resources they need to thrive. Their SIMPLE Service Projects is a simple way for people to help children in their communities.

For the month of June, Champion for Kids has teamed up with
to encourage community projects across the country to help keep kids in need with getting nutritious meals this summer while school is out.

With school out for summer vacation, millions of children lose access to the school breakfasts, lunches, and after school snacks that they receive during the school year. With the help of a SIMPLE Service Project, you and your friends and family can help children in need while having fun!

We had a Fiesta to Feed Families Taco Party with Jennie-O Turkey!

We invited over our good friends and their kids to enjoy the taco party and donate non-perishable foods for us to donate (per request, they are not included in the pictures).

is the brand I know and love. We grew up using Jennie-O Turkey at home and I enjoy using it now with my family as a healthier meal option. Jennie-O Turkey meat is all natural, no gluten, 93% lean 7% fat – and makes a delicious taco!

Our taco party was a success! We let the kids build their tacos however they wanted and made a taco bar of sorts to let them pick and choose how they liked their tacos.

Friends donated non-perishable foods that we donated to
.

We chose St. Vincent de Paul because they have a food bank at the church my in-laws attend. In fact, my father in law is a volunteer with them and it is where we donate often. The food bank provides boxes of food to families in need.

In addition to the food bank, they have a dining room that feeds the community in need during the mid morning and they are open to donations as well.

St. Vincent de Paul is an organization we have donated to before and will continue to donate too.

Thanks to Champion for Kids and their SIMPLE Service Projects, I think I may make this a regular get together! What could be better than having a reason to get together with friends while collecting items for kids in need!

Have you done a SIMPLE Service Project? What did you do?
