I love buying cards for other people. I have done it for ever and don’t necessarily need a reason. Growing up, my mom used to keep a stash of cards on hand so that no matter what occasion (or non-occasion) came up, she always had a card on hand.

While I was back to school supply shopping last week at Walmart, I found the Hallmark Value Card aisle that boldly stated Hallmark cards for $0.47 and $0.97. What a steal, right?
As an added bonus (and another great steal), when you sign up to be a
, you are able to record your purchases to earn rewards.
I downloaded the Hallmark reward app and am able to scan the UPC into the Hallmark Cards Reward app.
For every 5 cards purchased (and scan or input into the app), you earn a reward.
With back to school being last week, I decided to get my kids both a special card for their first day of school. (I also bought my bestie a card just because to say thank you for her friendship, and I got hubby a card for our 9 year wedding anniversary that is coming up later this month.)
I got the kids an I Miss You card and an I Love You card specifically for kids. No, really, the tabs on the card said “for kids”.
I tried to be sneaky and surprise the kids with their cards…
Buggy said she got her card and read it at school. (In the video she said she forgot it at school, but she later told me she keeps it in her desk so she can look at it.)
Buddy, unfortunately, thought it was for his teacher so he gave it to her. (And for the record, he was very upset when he found out it was for him and he hadn’t read it.)
They both felt special that they had gotten a surprise card on their first day of school and that was all that matter to me – making those close to me feel loved and special.
