Day 7: Your favorite childhood toys.

How ironic that today’s topic is my favorite childhood toy!

Just this past weekend, hubby and our best friends were outside chit chatting about toys from the past! I mentioned how my daughter wants the Cabbage Patch dolls that are being advertised right now which brought up the discussion of how they have “real” hair now instead of the yarn from our time. Fortunately for me, I purchased my daughter her first Cabbage Patch doll for her first birthday and it has the yarn hair. That of course led us into the conversation of Pound Puppies. I, of course, have MY original Cabbage Patch doll AND my Pound Puppy.

At this point in the conversation, hubby had to bring up the Garbage Pail Kids! I loved my Garbage Pail Kid cards. It was mentioned that they are still being sold in the stores, but they are nothing like what ours used to be like.

Lastly, who could forget about POGS? Now, I’m probably dating myself as way too young, but I do recall POGS being the coolest thing for the longest time.

Thinking back though, I still have a few of my favorite childhood toys boxed up in my garage. I have my Oopsey Doopsey Daisy Baby from when I was little. I still have my Barbies from when I was little  (including a New Kids on the Block Joey doll). Makes me want to pull everything out the garage and be a kid again!

And can I just add for the record that my husband still has his Popples!

What were your favorite childhood toys?
