I am a psych major so this book was right up my alley!
This book felt a lot like a text book to me, but in a good way. The definitions were clearly defined and outlined. There were case studies to help understand the concepts better.
It was a very easy to read, easy to follow, easy to understand read.
The book provides proper definitions into our emotional intelligence, how it affects us, the definition of emotions, and how we can control how we feel.
This isn’t a light read that you can just go through and be done. This is a self help book for a purpose and one that I look forward to going back through and really taking it at a slower pace to work on myself and my emotions.
As I am writing this post, I am worn out and exhausted by an out of control 7 year old who’s behaviors are at one of their worsts tonight. I am sitting here and being reminded about what I read and how involved emotions are.
The premise is the book as it states – career minded – but I really do believe that if you are a person who is around people (who isn’t?) that you can benefit from this read. It really is worth the time.
