I remember having a good time, but since we started going again, I remember how much fun it really can be!
We were provided the opportunity a couple weekends ago to go with our Blended friends to the Earth Explorers exhibit at the Arizona Science Center.
The Science Center is a place right up Buggy’s alley and Buddy loves being able to be free and explore.
Upon entering the Earth Explorer’s exhibit, the kids gathered round to watch them make homemade volcanoes. Buggy and Buddy were intrigued immediately (and really, I’m surprised they haven’t been asking for homemade volcanoes at home!)
While the big kids were learning how to make things… explode(?) (I guess for sake of wording); Baby Girl was off to cruise the jungle – complete with lions!
The jeep had a camera where the rear view mirror would be that played video of what appeared to be the jungle, with lions – males and female prides – roaming around.
No matter how many times I pulled her away, that jeep must have called her back because we spent a lot of time at that jeep!
I tried to get Baby Girl to make friends with the polar bear, but she wasn’t too keen on the idea!
She had to check him out first… (and that alone took several attempts!)
I had to show her that he was a nice bear (because he really was!) and had to hug him and become friends with him before she finally felt comfortable enough to approach him –
On the other side of the polar bear, we got to experience the real cold and see what you would need to wear in the cold of the Arctic.
Needless to say, if you are claustrophobic, that outfit may not be good for you! All I can say is layers!!
(Of course, one of her favorite things to tell me is when something is ‘brrr’ so she definitely enjoyed touching the ice and then touching mommy to make mommy ‘brrr’!)
While we had a tons of fun, I do have to say that one of our favorite parts was watching the penguins.
There were a couple of different television screens to watch the penguins, but by far, hands down the neatest experience was watching the penguins swim ‘under water’.
Even Baby Girl thought it was pretty cool!
I promise you, my big kids were there with us, but they were having so much fun exploring everything from the Arctic with the polar bear to the jungle with the jeep to the ocean with a giant shark! I couldn’t keep up with them!
The Earth Explorer’s exhibit began September 21st and currently does not have an end date, but I highly recommend getting their soon – you would hate to miss it!
