The past few days, I have started posts and deleted them, or I have sat at the computer staring at a blank post page for hours with nothing.
I have had severe writer’s block. Something that I can’t ever remember having in a long time (and I have been writer for many, many years in many different forms!)
BUT, I have some tips on how to get passed writer’s block!
First, you can ask your friends, like Laughing Lindsay, and they will tell you that once you get an idea, you can then write a post on getting passed writer’s block. Which at that point, you get a post idea – how to get passed writer’s block!
Next, I went to my friend Google and found the following articles:
In general, I have always kept a running list of ideas that come to me. Unfortunately for me, all the ideas I have right now revolve around a season that has come and gone.
Since my already written down ideas are out of season, I had to develop new ideas. So I brainstormed ideas that pertain to what I know. Parenting. With that, I started brainstorming ideas to expand on. No idea is too small or dumb. Just write it down. You can come back and expand on it later.
It doesn’t have to be parenting. It can be any topic that you know. Cooking, books, crafts, do-it-yourself, games, technology – the list is endless! Just make a running list.
If all else fails, just walk away. Give yourself time. I have learned that when I least expect it, an idea will come to mind!
