I love starting my morning with a glass of coffee and my blog (or some of my favorite blogs – whichever catches my eye first!) I love my coffee hot or cold, but have found that I am really raking in the calories and sugar with my coffee drinks (not to mention breaking my bank account!)
My favorite local coffee shop drink is the worst! We usually always get a 20 ounce if it’s warm or a 32 ounce if it’s cold. I have done the math and the calories that go with that are not pretty! And I can’t imagine my black coffee at home with a tablespoon of sugar and tons of creamer is any healthier! (Let’s just say I like a little coffee with my sugar and cream!)
We usually only venture out to our favorite coffee shop a few times a month because let’s face it, our 20 ounce drinks are roughly $4.00 (times two) and our 32 ounce drinks are closer to $5 (again, times two). While drinking coffee from home is cheaper, I get sick of hot black coffee with cream and sugar and like a variety.
I have also learned that for what I pay for one 20 ounce cup of coffee (technically a mocha) at my local shop, is what I pay for an entire half gallon of International Delight Iced Coffee. And let’s face it, one 20 ounce cup from my local shop disappears in one sitting where as we can get several cups of coffee out of our International Delights so we are saving a bundle as well!
So imagine my excitement when I found out that I could save money buy purchasing International Delights, but now I could cut back on my calories and sugar intake with International Delights Light Iced Coffee!
Considering I am 8 months pregnant and have already gained 15 pounds (which grant you, isn’t a lot, but it’s not what I was hoping for), I am very self conscious about my weight. I plan on jumping back on the weight loss band wagon as soon as baby is born and join the 2013 resolutions of others to lose weight.
Unfortunately for me, I have a caffeine addiction, but fortunately, with the new light version iced coffees, I can still get my caffeine through the yummy taste of International Delights Light Iced Coffee!
I will admit, at first I was skeptical. I wasn’t sure if the taste would differ being that this new version is “light”. Normally, I can taste the difference which is why I usually do not purchase anything “light”.
I am happy to report, I could not taste a difference. I think they taste just like the regular versions (which we are big fans of as well).
I am pleased that I can still enjoy the same great taste of the regular iced coffees from International Delights, but not have to worry so much about the calories and the sugar intake as I finish my pregnancy and start my weight loss journey!
International Delight Light Iced Coffee will be available at Walmart in the dairy case beginning on January 21st.
