Little Pim Language Learning for Your Child
I have always heard that teaching your children a new language at a young age is best because their developing minds absorb it better.
Unfortunately for my children, I know English, limited sign language and extremely limited Spanish. Teaching them sign language when they were still non-verbal was great, but now that they are older, not only have they lost any sign language taught to them, but they only speak English, so I jumped at the opportunity to review
.
In short,
Little Pim is an easy, fun and effective way to teach your child a new language.
Little Pim not only offers DVDs, but you can purchase and download on iTunes to play on your computer, iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc. I did not get the DVD, but got the iTunes download. I was informed the iTunes downloads come in Spanish, French, and Chinese. It appears, from the website, that the DVDs come in Spanish, French, Chinese, Italian, German, Arabic, Japanese, Hebrew, Russian and Portuguese.
I choose the Spanish download. Here in Arizona, there are a lot of Spanish speaking individuals so Spanish will be useful to the kids (and if I can learn while they watch it, that’s a bonus!)
My two kids (ages 7 and 4) love watching movies with other kids and the cartoon Panda was an added bonus! (I can’t wait until baby #3 is a here and a little older to have her watch these too!)
The video went at a great pace that showed the item, said the item in Spanish, showed the word, and continued to repeat the word with the item. The kids were able to catch on quickly and share with me what they learned and I am sure after watching it more than a handful of times, they will be able to retain the knowledge and use their new Spanish vocabulary!
I have to admit, I picked up a few new words as well! I am eager to keep watching this with the kids and see not only their vocabulary grow, but watch mine grow as well!
I definitely have my eye on purchasing one of the gift sets to continue the expansion of our Spanish vocabulary and am intrigued at learning Arabic as well since our local coffee shop owner speaks Arabic (hubby has picked up a few key words from them, but it would be fun to learn!)
