Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Birthday to our Fishy!

Today is a day I should be wearing green because let’s face it, I’m 75% Irish, but I wasn’t in the mood. Fortunately for me though, I have a great sister in law who took me out. It was the first time in the 3 weeks and 1 day that Lil Miss has been born that I got out of the house sans kids. My sister in law picked me up and we grabbed coffee from the best local coffee shop ever, browsed through Buy Buy Baby (which is very dangerous when you have a 3 week old at home!), got pedicures and then had lunch together. It was such a nice time!

Anyway…

why and when did you start blogging?

I have shared this story a million times, but I will share it again in case you missed it.

I started blogging at the end of July 2011.

Initially, the blog was going to be another social media for a direct sales company I was working with. I had done a few blogs previously that were more or less for personal use (no one else read them), but when I started this particular blog for my direct sales use, I discovered this entire underworld of bloggers.

Upon discovery of this underworld, I slowly changed from a “business blog” to a “general blog”. I blogged about whatever, whenever. I was doing reviews. I was blogging. I wasn’t really taking it seriously.

Since that time, I have started taking my blog more seriously and focusing more on it. Towards the end of last year, I came to accept that I am a family/parenting blogger. It is what I know best so why not share what I do know and make it fun?

This particular blog has rebranded several times, but it is still the same blog I started in July 2011. Initially it was “Leila * Mommy * Business Woman”, but when I dropped the business part, it became “The Go To Mommy”. There was some drama with that so I rebranded again to “Life as Leels” which is what we have been since March of 2012.

We are the same blog that we were day one. In fact, you can still find posts from our start. We have just taken a couple detours to get to where we are now and hope to take a few more detours to get exactly to where we want to be the best for our readers!
