I am not what one would consider an experienced wine drinker. I am very new to the wine scene (and unfortunately, very picky too!)
I had read another review recently about this Mommy Juice Wines and not only read that they liked it, but I loved the concept behind it! It is owned and made – by a mommy!
No joke, when I read
about
, I went out that night to hunt it down. I was told you can find it at CVS stores, but unfortunately, it appears they are not here in Arizona just yet (but I am told they are coming!) So I was happy to learn you can purchase online! (You can also purchase at California CVS stores and Northern California Target stores.)
Lucky me, was sent 1 bottle of MommyJuice Pool Party Pink (available to
only), 1 bottle of MommyJuice White, and 1 MommyJuice To Go cup (it’s like a coffee tumbler that has a wine glass inside! It’s super cute! Check my
out!)
MommyJuice Wines are from the California Central Coast and come in Red Wine (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot), White Wine (100% Chardonnay from Monterey County in California), and Pool Party Pink (A classic, dry, Southern Rhône-style Rosé. Bright raspberry, cherry and fresh strawberry aromas, with a hint of bottlebrush and violet. Marichino cherry, strawberry and pink grapefruit flavors are followed by a refreshingly dry finish. Ideal for a summer BBQ party. Blend: 65% Grenache, 16% Mourvèdre, 7% Zinfandel, 7% Pinot Noir, 5% Syrah).
I had planned on sharing my new wines with a friend, but between her son and my daughter getting sick for the past week, we haven’t been able to meet up so I decided to sample each wine myself and save the rest for when we can get together!
Being the inexperienced wine consumer that I am, I have to say, I liked both wines, but is not something I would consume on a nightly basis.
From my little experience, I have found that I prefer sweet wines (aside from beer, any mixed drink has to be sweet or I can’t drink it. I like my sweets!)
I found that the Mommy Juice Wines weren’t quite sweet enough for my liking, but they were good. I preferred the Pool Party Pink and after seeing what is consists of, can see why!
I enjoyed reading out on the back porch after a long day with four kids in the house – two of them under 4 months!
I will definitely be taking these to a get together with my gal friend in the very near future to share with her and have some girl time. I love the fact that the wines came with a little brochure that even gave ideas for yummy snacks to pair with each wine including ceasar salad, grilled shrimp, roasted chicken, macaroni and cheese, pizza, spaghetti and meatloaf!
And better yet, when I received the wines, I wasn’t sure what to do with them. (That’s how inexperienced I am!) I was able to take to Twitter and tweet
to ask my questions and got a quick response! (PS: The wines are best chilled!)
