In February, I did a post on
as well as
. When I received an email asking me to review the book
Mommy Time-Out Means Mommy Can…
I jumped at the opportunity to get more ideas that I had not thought of!
Mommy Time-Out Means Mommy Can…
is a simple, photo-driven book that offers busy, overwhelmed mothers (e.g., all mothers!) fun and relaxing ideas of things to do and easy-to-use forms to help make sure their Time-Out happens. Feli and Colleen, mothers themselves, know that for moms, time is a commodity, so they put these ideas in pictures and kept the text short, sweet and to the point, not to mention witty! The women in the photos are not professional models but rather real moms who also understand the importance of a good Time-Out, because when mommy is happy, everyone is happy! Whether you read this book front to back, or just turn to a random page, you will find inspiring, funny and helpful ideas to support the overwhelmed mother. This beautiful coffee table book makes the perfect gift for mothers any time of the year!
My Thoughts:
No doubt, an easy read. It is a picture book for mommies! Not to mention a great conversation starter!
It is full of great ideas for mommy time-outs and ways to de-stress, which lets admit, all mommies need a time-out every once in awhile to rejuvenate and refresh!
This would be a great gift for Mother’s Day!
Mommy Time-Out Means Mommy Can…
has great ideas accompanied with photos that once you see the photo, you want to go out and do said activity! If it does nothing else, it motivates you to get out on your own and have a time out (and a lot of it are free things to do that you can even do without going far from home!)
Overall, it’s a cute gift idea and a great go-to to find a nice relaxing activity for your own mommy time-out!
About the Authors:
Feli Robles:
I am a mother of two girls, Kathryn (5) and Sofia (7), and we live in Palm Springs, CA. I have a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of La Verne, California and I work full-time. However, my real job is being a full-time mother. When I’m with my girls, I try my hardest to make a point of being present and in the moment with them, and when I’m not, my very intuitive daughters know it and they do not have a problem bringing it to my attention! And I am grateful for it, because then I know it’s time to have my Mommy Time-Out. I need to take care of me, so that I can be a better mother to them.
Colleen Phillips:
I’m a mom of three beautiful girls, Casey (born 2007), Keira (born 2009), and Cali (born 2013). I’m happily married and living in Austin after being transplanted from Southern Cali, and before that Colorado. I have a B.A. in English and a M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I’ve been writing creatively since I was 12, and love that I have the opportunity to use my talents to encourage moms everywhere to take that all important Time-Out. I know it isn’t easy to remember to put ourselves first, and how things can spiral out of control when we are mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually unbalanced. So here’s hoping we can help all you moms out there to take care of you!
