These days, people are all about the DIY, the fixer-upper and being the Chip and Joanna Gaines of the world. Shoot, I would be lying if I haven’t asked hubby to fix up and remodel our home too!

While most of the home is absolutely fine (really, I would just want new flooring and an update to our laundry room); our kitchen needs a large overhaul.

Our kitchen is too small.

One of our counters extends from one wall, straight through the kitchen and dining room (thus separating the two rooms) and leaves a small walkway between itself and our annoying pantry that sticks out too far.

There isn’t a ton of cabinet space, the oven is old, the fridge has had to be repaired twice, I’m pretty sure the dishwasher doesn’t actually wash and there isn’t a ton of counter space either.

I would love to take out that counter that sticks out and remove the pantry that sticks out. It would turn the kitchen and dining room into one giant room.

A new dishwasher next to the sink would be perfect and then extend the counter top to the other side of our back door, making a full wall of counters plus cabinets under the counter.

This would give extra counter space that we need plus extra cabinet space that we need. (I’m thinking small appliances that don’t get used in everyday cooking could go on the new counters, freeing up the cooking counter space.)

A traveling island would be great to have for in the kitchen when doing food prep, but could easily move when we don’t need it in the way.

I would love a new oven to update our current one. I have seen a few at Best Buy that have caught my attention and I am all about a self-cleaning oven like the

Our fridge is old and needs to be replaced.

My in-laws got a new one last year that had the double doors plus the pull-out freezer. While it was super nice, I would love to have the
that has the “showcase” door (you know where you open one door and there is a second see through door) and is more energy-efficient than our old fridge.

The only big project left would be the flooring in the kitchen and dining room (because who in their right mind puts carpet in a family dining room!?)
