My Top 5 Mother’s Day Gift Wishes
This Mother’s Day will be my 9th Mother’s Day! (Wow, that makes me feel old!)
I am not into flowers (seriously? All that money for something that days in a day anyway) and gifts aren’t a must for me. In all honesty, I have only recieved a gift on Mother’s Day once and it was a gift certificate to get a massage (which I must confess still has not been used). To me, it’s more the thought and sentiment that count and I would be happy with a handmade card from my kids. Seriously.
Although, if someone were to ask me what my Mother’s Day gift wishes were, I would list the following:
A girl’s day out.
I would love a day where hubby stayed home with the kids and my girlfriend(s) and I went out for the day. Maybe a road trip out of town or a day just hanging out doing whatever. Sans kids.
A manicure and pedicure.
Another confession – I have had two pedicures in my entire life. And good golly Miss Molly it was delightful! I would love nothing more than to sit and relax while someone else did my nails for me.
A family staycation.
Hubby and my schedule are quite different. He works five days a week (including weekends) and the days that he has off, I work to prevent Baby Girl from going to daycare. Because of this, we do not get a lot of family vacations. A get away with the entire family to a hotel would be glorious to unwind and relax as a family.
A day in bed.
I am talking breakfast served to me in bed. Watching television all day in bed. Lunch served in bed. Reading all day in bed. Napping as I wish. Not having to change out of my jammies. Just a day to relax in bed doing whatever I please!
Someone to clean my house!
I’m sorry, but I do not know any mom that would not love someone to come in and clean their house – even for just one day! I get so overwhelmed sometimes with all the stuff on my plate that my house comes last in priorities and it shows!
Although I did tell hubby last night that I would like Mr. Adam Levin for Mother’s Day too!
This is definitely my request for this Mother’s Day – what is on your wish list?
