Racism, Prejudice, & Discrimination: Today’s Double Standard
Let’s just get down and dirty with this. Frankly, I am sick and tired of people playing the damn race card every chance they get. I am over it. We are in 2012.
First, whatever happened in the past is just that – the past. It is history. Do not blame me or punish me for something my ancestors did. I am not racist. I did not enslave anyone. I am not to blame for the stupid shit in the past that has nothing to do with me.
I will agree that slavery is a bunch of bullshit and there was and is absolutely no reason for it. It makes me ill. But, I was not born then. I do not agree with it. I do not condone it. So do not punish me or blame me for it.
Secondly, the only way to prevent history from repeating itself is to make changes yourself. That means not being racist, not oppressing other races, accepting all human beings based on their skin color.
This means getting your head out of your ass and being a role model for your children.
I raise my children to not judge others. Period.
I teach them to accept everyone and to not cast stones.
“We all bleed red.” (Great quote that someone commented on this
.)

My Point:
This has been a topic of conversation for a week or two now and it stems from an adult playing the race card every chance they get. It has now been taken completely out of control and racism is being projected towards white people. I am not going to pin point every detail because at this point, I am over it.
I am tired of the double standard in today’s society. This person can play the race card, but if I were to play the “I’m white card” there would be hell to pay. Why is it acceptable for a Latino or black person to create a “black only” or “Latino only” anything, but if I were to create a “white only” it would be racism, prejudice and discrimination. But nobody bats an eye when these other races do it.
I am done with the double standard and I will not stand for it.
