The more I get into my blogging, the more I learn from other bloggers! Some of my favorite blogs are the eco-friendly ones. I learn a lot and am able to start making positive eco-friendly changes in my home.

When I saw a review about Lunette menstrual cups, I had to look into it further! I was so intrigued by this concept, but also worried.

I have a very heavy flow and generally have to wear both tampons and pads to prevent any issues. Unfortunately, I have been having some concerns with tampons and was happy to try something more “safe”, none the less more eco-friendly.

What is the Lunette cup?

The Lunette menstrual cup is a reusable menstrual protection product made in Finland. It is an easy-to-use, safe, and hygienic alternative to pads and tampons. By using the cup, you will help protect the environment, save money, and get peace of mind.

Just fold, insert like a tampon and it collects blood rather than absorbs it. You empty it rather than change it — a little bit different.

The Lunette cup comes in 5 different colors as well as 2 different sizes. The website provides a “sizing guide” to help you determine which size might be best for you.

My Thoughts:

I have to be honest – when I first mentioned to my friends that I wanted to try the menstrual cup, they laughed and thought I was crazy! (Seriously!)

To me, I had a few thoughts –

• it may cost more in the beginning (versus a box of tampons and package of pads), but I would be saving money in the long run.
• it’s safer for the environment (and the septic system!)
• I wouldn’t have to worry about the “concerns’ I’ve been having with tampons

I will admit, at first, I was a little intimidated and had trouble figuring it out. Fortunately for me, my husband is a little weird and read the entire pamphlet provided a couple of times so I was able to ask questions from him! LOL

The first time it was a little uncomfortable, but after after use, I got more and more comfortable with it.

Once you get comfortable with it, it really is easy to use. It’s easy to clean and I haven’t had any issues with it! I am thoroughly please with my menstrual cup!
