Teaching Kids to Have a Clean Bum – Life as Leels

Teaching Kids to Have a Clean Bum

As if potty training isn’t hard enough, there comes the added stress of teaching kids to have a clean bum.

Even at 8 years and 6 years, we are still teaching (and reminding) the kids to have a clean bum!

First thing first is teaching your child how to wipe themselves properly (you know the whole girls wipe front to back rule?)

Second is to teach them that they don’t need half the roll of toilet paper for their little bums! (And I promise you, both of my children continuously use far too much toilet paper for their little bums. It never fails!)

Third is teaching them to clean their bums entirely! I am not going to lie. If we do not remind them or use bum wipes, we have skid row (pun intended).

We have used baby wipes in the past, but my kids will tell you that they sting their bums (how do babies not cry when using wipes on them!? Definitely makes me think my cloth wipe solution as a must have!)

Not only do baby wipes sting, but they certainly are not toilet friendly (which means no flushing!) And I don’t know about you but the thought of dirty wipes sitting openly in a trash receptacle or even in a bag in the trash is just unappealing. (And my kids don’t always follow directions properly!)

Luckily for me and my germaphobe ways, Cottonelle now has Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths!

The Cottonelle® Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths feature SafeFlush Technology, so they start to break down immediately after flushing. (Which for me translate to no more dirty wipes in the trash!)

They are sewer and septic safe, alcohol free (no more stinging little bums), and come in an easy one touch dispensing tub!

And for an extra touch of extra cleanliness, snag some Cottonelle Clean Care Toilet Paper! It’s strong and effective with tuggable, huggable softness to get the ultimate clean bum!

So tell me, besides wiping them yourself, how do you teach kids to have a clean bum?
