Handmade Cookies with No Mess for Mom at The Cookie Doughjo

There is nothing better than handmade cookies, but I am sure anyone will agree, the mess is just a bear – especially if the kids are helping you!

But what if I told you, you could have handmade cookies with no mess for mom at The Cookie Doughjo!?

That’s right. Handmade cookies. No mess for mom to clean up. At The Cookie Doughjo in Peoria, Arizona.

The Cookie DoughJo is an interactive and fun experience for children of all ages to learn baking skills while reinforcing what they are learning in school. For example; reading, the ability to follow directions, math, unit conversion, and chemistry to name a few. Guests can drop in for a cookie baking session, participate in cooking classes and schedule private birthday parties or classroom field trips. The Cookie Doughjo was founded by Regina Dark, an Arizona native and ASU graduate.

Buggy, Buddy, and I were fortunate enough to attend with some fellow blogger friends and their kids so we had a great time socializing while making handmade M&M cookies.

All the kids in attendance had so much fun!

The kids were each given their own mixing bowl and utensils. They were given recipe cards that they helped read and the wonderful friendly staff would provide the ingredients. The kids then got to mix their own cookie dough.

After all their ingredients were mixed together, the kids got their own baking sheet to scoop their cookies on and decorate with M&M’s (they have other cookie “flavor” options like chocolate chip and others, but this night, we were doing M&M’s).

While the cookies baked, the kids all got to decorate their own little box for their cookies. It was a great way to pass the time.

The Cookie Doughjo had cookies pre-made for us to snack on, little cartons of milk, and even chocolate milk!

The kids made new friends and I got to socialize with the other mommies that were in attendance. I would say we had at least 14 kids in attendance so it was a great place to have a get together or even a birthday party (which is on my list for the kids’ birthday!)

The Cookie Doughjo is definitely a great place to spend the day with a few friends, out of the heat, and go home with some delicious handmade cookies without the mess!
