‘Tis the Season to Pay it Forward

Some friends of mine recently came to me asking if I would help spread the word about one of their friends. Being a blogger with a large reach, I couldn’t say no to at least trying to help and with it being the season of giving, I had to share. How could I not?

Let me introduce you to Sam:

I have not met Sam, but I hear that she is one of the nicest, most selfless, and courageous person.

Sam is a single mother to three boys and was in a devastating car accident that changed Sam’s life forever. She is trying to get used to her new life without one of her feet. To make matters worse, her insurance has denied her claims for medical equipment needed to make her life smoother.

I have been informed that her insurance denied her a shower chair to help her shower. Through the grace of friends, they came together and were able to find her one that was being unused and it was donated to her.

Sam is now trying to obtain a wheelchair to be mobile again for her and her boys, but her insurance is denying her a wheelchair.

The cost of the wheelchair is $2700 and her maximum out of pocket for her insurance next year is $11,000 (which of course she has met already this year). She is having a hard time right now, and although it is right after the holidays, her friends and I are hoping that you could please donate any amount to Sam and her family.

The first goal is to raise enough for the wheelchair and anything over that will go towards her 2014 out of pocket expense.

Additionally, if you are local to the Phoenix area, there will be a garage sale on January 19th with the proceeds going to Sam and her boys. If you have anything you would like to donate, you can let me know and we can arrange pick up or drop off for your items.

I know times are hard for everyone, but I always like to keep in mind that if it were me or my loved ones, I would want others to help in my time of need. No matter how big or how small, every little bit counts.

You can find the
to donate.
