Top US Zoo Bucket List – Life as Leels

There is nothing I find more therapeutic than animals. Put me in a zoo, in an aquarium, any place that has animals wandering around and I am good. I could spend all day there. (I mean, if I could live in a zoo, I totally would!) There is just something calming and peaceful about animals.

I have only been to three zoos in my entire life – Minnesota Zoo, Como Zoo (in Minnesota) and the Phoenix Zoo – but I definitely have a zoo bucket list with the top US zoos!

Brookfield Zoo, Chicago, IL

Bronx Zoo, The Bronx, NY

Cincinnati Zoo, Cincinnati, OH

Columbus Zoo, Columbus, OH

Dallas Zoo, Dallas, TX

Denver Zoo, Denver, CO

Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Lake Buena Vista, FL

Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha, NE

Houston Zoo, Houston, TX

Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, IL

Memphis Zoo, Memphis, TN

Philadelphia Zoo, Philadelphia, PA

, San Diego, CA

St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis, MO

Toledo Zoo, Toledo, OH

Zoo Miami, Miami, FL

(Reader Submission) Tanganyika Wildlife Park, Goddard, KS

This year, the top one on my list is the San Diego Zoo. The zoo is celebrating its 100 years all through 2016 and is including special content and performances during
, their evening hours through the summer!

San Diego Zoo celebrates 100 years.

There will be displays on Centennial Plaza, two new film experiences, a new show at Wegeforth Bowl, and more. All summer long, our Nighttime Zoo will keep the celebration going with live music, fun activities, and our spectacular Centennial pageantry puppets!

My ideal bucket list item is to travel the country with my little family and homeschool the kids as we go along. Then I would be able to meet my zoo bucket list problem with zero problem!

Alas, as it stands that I cannot afford to do that (yet – operative word – yet) so I will start working on my zoo bucket list starting with the closest zoo –
!

Have you been to San Diego Zoo? What is a must see while I am there?
