*Please note, this post contains my thoughts and opinions. I am no expert. Just a blogger with an opinion.*

What I Know:

I know that Trayvon Martin was staying with his father at his father’s fiance’s home in a gated community. I know that he went to the convenience store, at night, in the rain, to get candy for his brother. I know he was walking home when the head of the community watch (Zimmerman) called 911 to report a suspicious person. I know that Zimmerman began following Trayvon. I know that Trayvon Martin was on the phone with a girl friend. I know that the 911 dispatcher told Zimmerman to stop following Trayvon Martin. I know that Trayvon Martin was killed by a gunshot produced by Zimmerman. I know that Trayvon Martin was unarmed and had a package of Skittles in his pocket for his brother.

Then things get hazy…

It has been reported that there was a scuffle and that Trayvon Martin beat Zimmerman and that Zimmerman was acting in self defense.

Rumors and/or reports into Trayvon’s past show him not to be an exceptional individual.

This is what I believe:

If Trayvon Martin really did beat Zimmerman, this so called “video” from his booking at jail would show some sort of damage to his person. (A) There appeared to be no injuries to Zimmerman’s person and (B) if he were bleeding from his head and nose as stated, there would be blood on his clothes and/or person and law enforcement would be wearing gloves to prevent contamination.

Trayvon Martin’s background is irrelevant to the point.

The point is that an adult male followed an unarmed teenager, got out of his vehicle after a dispatcher specifically told him not to, and eventually shot the teenager. I do not believe he [Zimmerman] was beaten as he claims he was. Either way- whether he was or was not- he was told NOT to get out of his vehicle. He should not have been following Trayvon and if you are insistent on following him, stay in your vehicle. Do you realize that if Zimmerman would have remained in his vehicle, this whole ordeal could have been prevented? There would have been no supposed scuffle between Zimmerman and Martin, and there would be no gunshot resulting in the murder of an unarmed teenager. Period.

And that, my friends, is my thoughts regarding the murder of Trayvon Martin.

If you have another viewpoint, please feel free to share it! I enjoy discussing different viewpoints, but please, keep it clean. I will be moderating and will not allow for nasty comments.

My friend Sadie at
shared her view, too. Feel free to see her post on “
