With summer break coming soon (for some sooner than others), my family and I have compiled a list of 74 days of summer activities. This is part 3 of a three part series.

51.

Play ball!

It’s too hot to play ball outdoors, but find yourself a foam ball and foam bat (or socks and an empty tube of wrapping paper – be creative!) and play some indoor ball!

52.

Plan a party:

It doesn’t have to be for any specific occasion. It can be for family or for friends or for a playdate!

53.

Camp Indoors!

Set up the tent indoors, grab the sleeping bags and camp inside!

54.

Clean!

Yeah, yeah. No one likes cleaning, but make it fun. Have the kids go through their clothes and toys to donate to little ones in need.

55.

Bingo!

Have family and friends over for a game of bingo. Have everyone bring a snack, drink and/or prize to give away to winners!

56.

Indoor hopscotch

– one of my kids’ favorite things to do at grandma’s! Grandma has the foam floor mat puzzle pieces that my daughter links up and uses for indoor hopscotch using a penny for the marker!

57.

Build a card house.

58.

Make a cartoon.

Draw each scene on a new piece of paper and put it together to create a cartoon flip book!

59.

Write and act out a play!

Invite family or friends over to participate or to be the audience!

60.

Tie dye clothing!

I cannot wait to try this with my kids! I remember having so much fun doing this in school when I was younger!

61.

Volunteer.

If your kids are old enough, volunteer at a food bank or soup kitchen. See if there is something at the library you can volunteer for. Check within your community for places that need volunteers where the family can volunteer together.

62.

Find a pen pal!

Do they even do these things anymore!? Find a pen pal for your child in another country to learn about another culture. Imagine what they can share at school after summer break!

63.

Indoor mini golf!

Set up a mini golf course in the home! If you don’t have a toy golf set, create one! Be imaginative!

64.

Go to a play.

Find a local children’s theater to attend a play!

65.

Re-decorate.

Maybe your first grader wants a more “grown up” room or your baby who is entering kindergarten wants a “big boy” room. Help them redecorate it!

66.

Decorate t-shirts.

My mom and I used to make holiday sweatshirts growing up. We would use iron on images and then use puffy paint to accentuate the images. It was one of my favorite things to do!

67.

Find a pottery painting studio.

The kids and I recently went to
and had a blast. You pay a flat studio fee, pick out your pottery piece and paint it as you wish. You then pay for the piece of pottery. It can be spendy, but if you save up for it, it would make a great summer activis over and school begi Center.

68.

Paper chain countdown:

A holiday, a birthday, or just count down for when summer ends and school starts!

69.

Community Center:

Find a local community center where you can swim or find various classes or activities.

70.

Host an indoor carnival.

Create some fun games with prizes and invite the neighborhood kids to come to the carnival and play games!

71.

Have a circus!

Have some friends over, paint their faces like clowns and put on a circus! The cat is a lion and needs a tamer! Clowns juggle! The dog is a tiger who can do tricks! Use your imagination and have fun!

72.

Strike a pose!

Let the little ones be models and have an indoor photo shoot!

73.

Makeovers!

The boys may not be game, but the girls will be! Do each other’s hair, makeup, and nails!

74.

Go back to school shopping!
