Mother’s Day
First off,
Happy Mother’s Day
to my readers that are mommies (or grandma’s)! Whether it is step-mom, adopted mom, foster mom, what have you; I hope you have a wonderful mother’s day all about you!
Unfortunately, my kiddos are at their grandma’s house while I am in class. (Trust me, I would much rather be with
my
kids on
my
holiday than in class listening to lecture!)

I am not a big fan of mother’s day or the warm fuzzies that revolve around mother’s day. Let me expand…
Do you ever notice that mother’s day revolves around ‘how your mom inspired you’ or ‘how great your mom is’ blah, blah, blah? I was reading through some blogs last night and came across a few “mother’s day contests”. Of course though, they want you to submit all this business about how inspiring your mom is and how your mom is so great and all that business.
I don’t get along with my mom. I don’t remember ever getting along with my mom besides the year and a half depression she went through when my stepfather had an affair on her. We have just never gotten along. We still don’t. I live 1700 miles away and I prefer it that way. I go home roughly once a year (usually for a wedding or funeral), but when I do, we usually fight. We just don’t get along.
Days like today are just frustrating. Yes, I am a mom so it is kind of a day for me, but when I stop and think about mother’s day, I don’t really have that someone who inspired me or have ‘great’ things to say about her.
She inspired me to be a better mom to my kids and to have a relationship with my kids that I wish I had with her. Period.
Am I the only one with this issue on mother’s day?
