My name is Dewey–Inspector Dewey.
I live in the big green house on Hampshire Avenue with my family: Thumper, Lily, and Anna. I am the Big Cat—responsible for keeping everyone safe and in order. I do this quite well, in spite of the fact that managing my family is like, well, herding cats!
Mostly our life is peaceful. But one night it wasn’t. That was the night the bad guy showed up on our block. Of course, I knew exactly how to outsmart the outlaw, but—miserable mullet!—would Anna and the police understand my instructions?
To find out how the adventure ended, you’ll have to read my book. But I’ll give you a hint: there’s a reason I’m called Inspector Dewey.

BECAUSE PETS BELONG WITH THEIR PEOPLE™
Inspector Dewey is a cute children’s book. It has super cute drawings – mainly of Inspector Dewey and his three best friends; Thumper, Lily, and Anna.
The book and story make a great read aloud for the younger kids, but I would recommend that a child probably 4th grade and above could read it without many struggles. Some of the vocabulary is quite large and some of the words are words not commonly used. Even reading aloud with the kids, some words had to be explained.
I think our favorite parts were when Dewey would get excited and use a fish as his saying – “miserable mullet”, “great grouper”.
In general, the book is very readable. The lettering is bigger than normal which makes it easier to read with the kids. It is longer than what my kids are used to reading aloud too, but it is such a fun book to read with the kids and together as a family!
We are cat lovers in our home so reading about Inspector Dewey, Thumper and Lily was something we all enjoyed!
