As a family, we love to play board games so I thought I would share with you our favorite top 10 family board games!

We love playing cards because there are so many games we can play together as a couple and as a family! I think my kids have been playing with playing cards since they were old enough to walk!

Some of our favorite games to play are Go Fish, Taneeb (adults), Slap Jack, King’s Corner, and Crazy Eights. We have also been known to play Memory with playing cards when the actual game is missing in action!

Playing cards are also a great thing to take when camping!

We got HedBanz from hubby’s parents over Christmas and we have a ton of fun playing! Be careful though, it can get a little out of control and turn into an all out giggle fest! (That’s how you know you’re playing right!)

I have to tell you, I had no idea that my 7 year old and my 5 year old knew how to play checkers! I know I was much older when I learned how to play, but I have to admit, my 7 year old is darn good and gave me a run for my money. And the 5 year old is getting there.

If you’ve played checkers you know that it takes concentration and thought and focus. They both get better every time we play (and I promise, I do not go easy on them!)

I don’t know about anyone else but this is definitely a game from my childhood!

My kids love Chutes and Ladders and I have found that it is a great game to help kids count and learn their number sequences (of course the chutes and ladders tend to throw it off, but it still helps them count!) And best of all, the kids can play themselves or the whole family can play it!

Another of my childhood favorites and a game that my kids have come to love as much as I did growing up!

What I love about Candy Land is that it helps them learn their colors. I have also found that it shows their competitive side and is a great first game for any child to teach them not to be sore losers!

I loved playing this when I was young and I still love to play it as an adult which is why I was thrilled when my kids started playing it! And it’s still educational because they have to count their own dice!

Great game for kids and adults alike! (Gotta keep the brain young!)

Who doesn’t love the original Uno!? This is another great game to play with a few people or the whole family. You can also play it with larger get togethers or gatherings. And this is another card game we like to take camping with us!

I think I learned how to play Phase 10 in the sixth grade and it has quickly turned into a family game for hubby and his family. The kids are still learning how and Buggy does pretty well, but I’m sure this will definitely be a family game that we play for a long time! (And another game we like to take camping!)

If memory serves me right, my sisters were taught this game in elementary school and they taught me. I have since taught my children and we can sit there for hours playing.

Beware of the little pieces if you have little ones as they could be a potential choking hazard, but it is a fun game to play none the less!
