Over the past few months, a lot of my peers have been sharing their juicing habits. Oblivious, I had to know –

What is Juicing?

In short, juicing is extracting juice from fruits and vegetables.

Okay, easy enough right? Then I heard about juice cleansing.

What is a Juice Cleanse?

In short, it is consuming only juice (extracted from fruits and vegetables) while abstaining from foods, especially foods that are laiden with additives, preservatives, imitation flavorings, and other chemicals.

Okay, got it. I now had the basics down, but then the real question hit –

Why Start a Juice Cleanse?

Juicing is a great way to kick start your diet and reboot your body by drinking vitamin and enzyme rich juices that while provide your body with all the nutrition your body needs and release the toxins that have been consumed (by foods that have the additives, preservatives, imitation flavorings, and other chemicals).

I knew that I wanted to start 2014 off with a bang. My goal for the year was to get healthy, exercise more, and in the end, lose weight.

I figured that starting the year off with a juice cleanse and ridding my body of the toxins would be a great way to start, hence, the
.

I took part in a 3 day juice cleanse (when purchasing you can do a 1 day up to a 10 day cleanse). The 3 day juice cleanses included 18 bottles of juice – 6 bottles of juice per day for three days.

Of the 6 bottles, there were 4 different flavors – Pure & Simple which contained Kale, Cucumber, Spinach, Apple, Parsley, Celery, Lemon; Balance which had Kale, Cucumber, Spinach, Apple, Parsley, Celery, Lemon, Ginger; Scorpion Lemonade which was made of Lemons, Agave Nectar, Cayenne, Filtered Water; and Crescent Moon which contained Raw cashews, Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon, Agave Nectar, Filtered Water.

By now I am sure you are reading those ingredients thinking how nasty they must taste, but I assure you – they were not nearly, not even remotely as bad as I thought they would be. (Seriously, they actually tasted good! Especially when cold!)

For three days, I had to drink one bottle of juice (16 ounces) every 3 hours.

Each bottle was labeled with a number to keep me on track – bottle 1, 3, and 5 were Pure & Simple, bottle 2 was Balance, bottle 4 was Scorpion Lemonade, and bottle 6 was Crescent Moon. (This way, I knew which bottle I was supposed to drink!)

I did not find that I was hungry, but unfortunately, an underlying medical condition gave me problems so I did have to eat foods. Fortunately, the pamphlet they provided did provide foods that were acceptable to eat on the cleanse so I had hubby run to the store. Unfortunately, even with that, I did not make it the entire three days.

Overall, I was very please with the experience I did have. I did have a few minor side effects that were mentioned with the detoxification. I hope to get my medical issues under control and then re-do the cleanse because I really would like to experience a complete raw juice only cleanse and I will definitely be going back to
for my juices! They arrived cold and ready to go straight to my door! (Not to mention saving me the mess, hassle, and purchasing all the necessary equipment!)

Thank you to Skinny Limits and to
for this awesome opportunity!
